Inspiring young leaders as they enter the workforce

The York Jaycees is a not-for-profit with a mission focused on leadership training and community service. Our organization is open to young men and women, ages 21 to 40, residing around our chapter areas.

We currently have a chapter in York, Pennsylvania and Lubbock, Texas.

Chartered in 1948, we’ve been serving young adults in the York community for 50+ years and more recently in Texas.

We rely on our alumni network for fundraising and volunteer staffing so that we can keep sharing our inspiring mission and develop young adults over decades. We’re so grateful for our community support to continue making this meaningful impact for our members.

Our mission is to develop young adults in the following areas:

Our non-profit brings together men and women in the area into a tight knit community focused around personal development.

We’re focused on in-person networking and building personal and professional relationships that can last years.

While we currently only serve two areas, we are always looking to expand our network. Our second chapter was opened by an existing member moving to Texas, and we are always open to growing. If you’d like to join York Jaycees but currently don’t live in one of our chapter areas, please let us know. We may be able to connect you virtually to an existing chapter, or support you in opening a new chapter location.

— Our Story

York Jaycees was founded by former President Mark when he was in search for an inperson group to better his leadership skills. He had just been promoted to Manager in his IT job. This was the natural progression in his career, but he had never had the opportunity to lead others before. He was very much out of his element. Being a go-getter and do-er, he started his search for leadership groups. The ones he found were boring online courses or individual study. Mark wanted a community he could interact with others, get out of his comfort zone, make friends, and meet regularly to build leadership skills. Since he didn’t find it, he built it!
